I'm not asking you to fund a dream of being famous.
I'm asking you to help me keep a voice alive.
calxdo is completely independent. I pay for the instrumentals, licences, streaming services, distribution and everything it takes to release this music myself.
I started writing and recording because I knew what it felt like to be a man at the darkest point of his life with nobody hearing him.
So I opened the door to mine.
The addiction. The mental battles. Fatherhood. Relationships. Losing people. Being hurt. And just as importantly — the times I was the one who fucked up.
Because this music isn't only for men.
I want women to hear a man admit the things men often hide. The excuses. The manipulation. The emotional distance. The warning signs.
Maybe something I admit in a song helps someone recognise what they're living through.
I'm not pretending to be perfect.
I'm putting my worst moments on speakers so somebody else might recognise theirs before it's too late.
Every dollar donated goes towards keeping this music independent and keeping that door open.
If one song reaches someone sitting alone in the dark and makes them feel heard, then this was worth doing.
Yeah — the strongest angle is not “fund my music career.” It’s: I’m funding this independently because I’m trying to turn what I’ve lived through, including my own mistakes, into music that reaches people who feel unheard. And importantly, you’re not only speaking to men—you’re willing to admit where you’ve hurt people too, so women can hear the warning signs from the other side.
I've lived through some of the darkest periods of my life. I've made mistakes. I've hurt people. I've been hurt. I've battled addiction, mental health, relationships falling apart, fatherhood, regret, loneliness and moments where I genuinely couldn't see what came next.
Instead of hiding all of that, I started writing about it.
And somewhere along the way, other people started listening.
That's when the purpose changed.
WHY I DO THIS
There are men sitting alone right now who don't know how to explain what is happening inside their heads.
Men who feel unheard.
Men who think admitting they're struggling makes them weak.
Men who have made mistakes and believe those mistakes mean their life is finished.
Men who are at the darkest point of their lives and don't know how to ask somebody for help.
I want my music to reach them before that darkness convinces them there is no way back.
If opening the door to my own life — including the ugly parts — makes one person feel less alone, then every uncomfortable lyric is worth it.
But there's another side to what I'm trying to do.
THIS ISN'T JUST FOR MEN
I want women listening too.
Because I'm not interested in making music where I pretend I've always been the good guy.
I haven't.
I've fucked up.
I've behaved in ways I regret. I've hurt people I cared about. I've ignored things I should have recognised earlier. I've had to look at myself and admit things that aren't comfortable to admit.
And I'm willing to put those admissions into my music.
Why?
Because maybe hearing a man openly describe his own behaviour helps a woman recognise something happening in her own relationship.
Maybe she hears a lyric and thinks:
"I've heard that excuse before."
"He does that to me."
"That's exactly how he makes me feel."
Maybe hearing the thought process from the other side helps somebody recognise manipulation, dishonesty, emotional distance, addiction, toxic behaviour or the warning signs that something isn't right.
I'm not trying to preach from some perfect position.
I'm opening the door and saying:
This is my life. This is what happened to me. This is what I did wrong. This is what broke me. This is what I learned. Take whatever you need from it.
WHAT YOUR SUPPORT GOES TOWARDS
Every contribution will go directly back into keeping calxdo independent — paying for instrumentals and licences, music and streaming services, distribution, production costs, artwork, promotion and the other costs involved in continuing to release music.
I'm still putting my own money into this.
I'm still doing the work myself.
I'm not asking people to finance some fantasy of becoming famous.
I'm asking for help keeping something alive that is beginning to mean more than just music to me.
I want to make songs for the bloke sitting alone at 2am who thinks nobody understands.
For the father who feels like he's lost everything.
For the person fighting addiction who thinks relapse means they've failed forever.
For the woman hearing warning signs in a relationship but questioning whether she's imagining them.
For the person carrying regret who needs to hear that accountability doesn't mean their story has to end there.
And for anyone who has ever felt completely fucking unheard.
I can't promise where this music will go.
But I can promise what I won't do.
I won't fake the story.
I'll keep opening the door to my life.
I'll keep admitting where I got it wrong.
I'll keep talking about the things people usually hide.
And if these songs can help even a few people understand themselves, understand somebody they love, recognise something dangerous, or simply make it through one more night, then calxdo is already doing what I created it to do.
If you'd like to help me keep doing that independently, any contribution — or even just sharing this page or one of the songs — means more than you know.
Thank you for listening.

For the unheard. For the ones still fighting. And for the ones trying to become better than the person they used to be.
